We are pleased to invite you to our October wine tasting at the GRANDIS.
Wine region South TyrolSouth Tyrol is one of the smallest wine growing region of Italy. Because of the geographical situation, the alpine Mediterranean climat and the high quality of the terroir, the Alto Adige became a well-known white wine producing region of Italy. Here are growing authentic wines, full of character, and there is a wide range of varieties. White wines - such as Ruländer, Gewürztraminer, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay - constitute about
60% of the wine growing area. Beside the red autochthonous grape varieties - Vernatsch and Lagrein - the international varieties Pinot Noir, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon are dominating.
About 70% of the South Tyrolian wines are produced in cooperatively-organized wineries. The winery Kurtatsch is one of the oldest cooperatively-organized wineries and is among the best producers of the region. The vineyards of Kurtatsch are situated between 220 and 900 meters above sea level - mostly on steep slopes. Thus, very unique terroir wines are produced.
Harald Cronst, sales manager of the winery Kurtatsch, will present together with Thomas Kubanek from the wine shop von Salis AG, Landquart, a cross-section of the product range.
Get to know these extraordinary white and red wines full of character and terroir of South Tyrol together with selected GRANDIS specialties.
