The wine tasting at the Ustria da vin starts with a visit to the "Agricola Buglioni" near Verona. In San Pietro in Cariano, a winemaking career began more than 30 years ago for a man who was actually a textile entrepreneur. Alfredo Buglioni bought a country house with grounds, including some vineyards. Buglioni was inspired by the special atmosphere and decided to pursue a personal passion: viticulture.
As great as this passion was, it initially remained a sideline for Alfredo Buglioni. The first harvest was small and manageable - so it became a celebration among friends. It was only later that the entrepreneur's hobby became a full-time job. The hobby winemaker's son, Mariano Buglioni, was responsible for this. He enlarged the cultivation area and replanted it with old, local varieties, and a cellar with all the necessary equipment was built. This is how the former country house became the birthplace of numerous wines.
Mariano Buglioni attaches great importance to natural cultivation and takes the traditional characteristics of the region into account when working in the cellar. Today, those responsible produce a whole range of typical wines. These include fine wines such as Amarone, but also typical classic wines such as the "Valipolicella Classico". This is probably the best example of how Buglioni's high quality standards not only include prestigious wines, but also focus on the simple. Just as was the case with the first harvest.
